Material data documentation is a requirement regulated by international and domestic law. The specifications are also accompanied by customer norms and product requirements. IMDS is the international material data system for the automotive industry. Nearly all automobile manufacturers are currently represented in this system and use IMDS to access and deliver material data. All of the basic materials used in building automobiles are entered, archived and managed using this system. The primary purpose of the IMDS is to make it possible for manufacturers and suppliers to fulfill the obligations set forth in domestic and international norms, standards, laws and regulations.
IMDS data is submitted to customers as part of the initial sample test report. If the delivery of IMDS data is not on time, it is evaluated as an error in the product and in most cases leads to a rejection of the initial sample test report.
As such, IMDS has now become a vital element in successful sales: Missing IMDS data can be a disadvantage with regard to a company’s valuation and its ability to compete on conceptual levels.

The China Automotive Material Data System (CAMDS) is a product data management platform for Chinese OEMs. Experienced IMDS users can operate the CAMDS after a short time, but have to do without the convenient operation and the usual system performance of the IMDS. We also advise and support you in CAMDS with our well-known IMDS services.
SCIP-Support
Since January 2021, companies have been obliged to submit a “SCIP notification” to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) for all products containing SVHC candidates. We do also support you with the legally required reporting in the SCIP data base.
